Just in, flown on special order from Italy…a one-hundred pound mortadella! Mortadella is a traditional sausage from Bologna, used as a charcuterie meat. We will be serving it sliced (by hand of, course) or cubed a. A bowl of mixed olives or a platter of assorted cheeses from our Prosciutto Bar is a perfect match to this smooth flavored Bolognese delight. Interestingly enough, it seems Medieval poet and write Giovanni Boccaccio shared our predilection. In writing his “Decameron”, he cites a coveted meat product called “mortadello”.

Created in Italy in the 1920?s, and even with its purely Italian ingredients (Vermouth and Campari), this cocktail was ironically dubbed “Americano”, perhaps in jest of of the Americanization frenzy in Europe at that time.Cocktail aficionados will also enjoy our Negroni Sbagliato (which literally translates to “Incorrect Negoni”). This Milanese classic invented in the city’s historic Bar Basso in the 1960s rivals its Florentine precursor, the Negroni, offering a lighter alternative to the original recipe’s call for gin with sparkling wine.
